The Inspiration

From the Animal Series inspired by a trip to the San Diego Zoo with my daughter. Returning after several to the zoo, I felt it was time to continue the animal series. The animal series is not limited to wild animals, but all those that roam the earth.

Quick Note

Welsh Mountain sheep  are small, hardy sheep from the higher parts of the Welsh mountains. The males have horns, and the females are polled (hornless); they have no wool on the face or legs, and they have long tails (normally left undocked).

The fleece is thick and moderately long. The Welsh Mountain sheep is well suited to the harsh environment in stormy weather, through snow, climb walls and push through small gaps to find sufficient food in the most meagre pastures.

In their native Wales they are kept on the hills or open mountain all year round, being rounded up a few times each year. Most flocks are descended from sheep that have grazed the same mountains for generations.

Conservation Status

[ x ] Endangered. Black Welsh Sheep are endangered.

Sheep Power Animal

Sheep embodies the very idea of things that are simple, but so precious in their simplicity. Sheep is commonly associated with routine, everyday life, and things that are good and pure. Sheep are animals associated with joy, innocence, and children.

Call upon the sheep when you feel you are jumping into the herd mentality and you need to refrain.  Call upon the Sheep to identify and escape the victim mentality.
